Want a more spacious hotel room or that Wi-Fi charge waived from your bill? Hotel receptionists share insider tips for these and other ways to improve your next hotel experience.
Reader's Digest rounded up 21 tips from current and former hotel desk clerks. Some of the more interesting ones include:
#5: Don't ask for a room upgrade when other guests are within earshot. To get a bigger room, just ask for a corner room or a handicapped one.
#8: Don't call between 9am and 1pm with a special request. That's the busiest time for receptionists, so they may be less likely to spend time accommodating you.
#12: Ask for the Wi-Fi charges to be removed at checkout rather than asking for them to be waived in advance.
There are several others in the slideshow you may not know about, so check it out.
